One of the first things vegans learn to do is read labels. We read them on our food and we read them on our clothes. We look for the obvious culprits: Fur, Leather, Wool, and Feathers. Though you can usually spot those bad guys without a search for that tag. Now I won’t get all preachy about the millions of animals that die and suffer in unthinkable ways for fickle trends and passing fashions. I will tell you that these days you can get affordable compassionate clothes, accessories and shoes that’ll show how beautiful you are on the inside and out.

But if you’re more of a try-it-on type and aren’t lucky enough to live in an area with a vegan shop… don’t worry. You can always find fabulous animal friendly finds at mainstream shops like Payless Shoes, H&M, Gap, American Apparel, Forever 21… pretty much anywhere in the mall.
