About

tempehThis is that page where the writer or writers define what it is they hope to accomplish with their little corner of the internet.  A Mission Statement if you will… but honestly when I think of it like that I have a hard time really putting together a snappy paragraph encompassing all our hopes and dreams. I haven’t had that Jerry Maquire moment yet where it all comes together in a synergized hyperbole of big ideas. Maybe I will some day. Until then we’re just going to have to live with this.

The Mission

To prove that anything can be made vegan and that a cruelty-free lifestyle isn’t a sacrifice or drama. Living a cruelty-free lifestyle can tap into unknown reserves of creativity and inspire you to not only invest more in your own health but is doing something positive for the environment and for beings who require your compassion just to survive. Being vegan these days is easier than ever and we’d love to help vegans and not-yet-vegans alike enjoy a cruelty-free lifestyle as much as possible.

To prove that the stereotype of ‘The Militant Vegan’ is outdated and silly. Today’s vegans can love Star Wars, The Celtics, Xbox, smelling nice, fashion, fantasy football, laughing, travel and religiously have Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Angel marathons every year. Although we strive to show the broad spectrum of interests that is our cruelty-free life, we do talk about our cats quite a bit and from time to time do yoga.

To support and share vegan-friendly products and companies. Whether we like it or not, we live in a consumer based society. Every time we spend our money, we are casting a vote per say for what products and business practices are going to succeed and be expanded on. We hope that by introducing the public to vegan products and providing recipes on how to use these products in amazing ways, we won’t just encourage more people to explore being vegan but help those who have struggled with the lifestyle change to stay vegan.

Ultimately to help vegans and not-yet-vegans do the best they can when they can while living a full and happy life! Oh and to boldly go where no man has gone before.

Thank You

Special Thank Yous go out to Josh Hooten of The Herbivore Clothing Company fame for designing our header, Adam Durand, who you might know from his work on Fowl Play – a movie about the egg industry, for his help with graphics and to Eric Alan Hopf, the mastermind behind The Vegan Bodega, for helping with this site.
